Spring '26 Ladies' Event Session Options:

1. IDEXX - Led by Steve Stephenson

This hands-on session will feature the OnFarm Pregnancy and BVDV SNAP Antigen tests. and its role in heard health and biosecurity. Participants will also learn how to properly complete a tail-head blood draw, gaining practical skills they can implement immediately on their own operations. This session equips producers with real-time diagnostic tools to improve reproductive management and herd health decisions.

2. Pricing & Selling Cattle - Led by Donnie & Cathy Brown, Oklahoma Miniature Lovable Livestock

Take a practical look at what does into pricing cattle and preparing them for sale. This session will cover factors that influence value, how to evaluate your costs and goals and considerations when choosing where and how to sell. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to price with confidence and make informed marketing decisions for their operation.

3. Elevation Agritourism - Led by Arielle Honovich, Ridge Ranch

Explore ways to turn your farm or ranch into an experience that connects with visitors and creates new opportunities for your operation. This session will cover practical ideas for strengthening your agritourism offerings, creating memorable guest experiences and identifying ways to generate additional farm income while staying authentic to your operation and its story.

4. Roping - Led by Diego & Gaizkane De Carvalho, Mini Farm Cattle Company

Get hands-on with the fundamentals of roping in a fun, supportive setting. Participants will learn proper rope handling, how to build and control a loop and techniques for improving accuracy and confidence. Whether you are brand new to roping or looking to sharpen your skills, this session offers plenty of opportunity to practice.

5. Colostrum & Mastitis Lab - Dr. Cameon Ohmes, DVM, MS, DACVIM, MBA - Senior Associate Director

Get hands-on with health and newborn care. Practice proper milk sample collection and mastitis testing, evaluate colostrum quality, interpret results and learn how those results guide treatment, supplementation and management decisions.

6. Agritourism Panel - Panelists: Arielle Honovich (Ridge Ranch), Angie Johnson (224 Farms), Whitney Hinrichsen (OK Agritourism Coordinator), Julie Bowen (Cowgirl Confident Events & Well Cultivated Marketing)

An interactive discussion featuring successful agritourism operators sharing real-world insights on branding, pricing, risk management, and creating profitable farm experiences. Includes workshop-style sessions for actionable implementation.

7. Injections & IV Administration - Led by Dallas Finn, Dr. Mindy's Veterinary Service

This hands-on training session will utilize our vaccination simulators to teach proper vaccine handling, needle placement and injection technique. Participants will practice both intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SubQ) administration methods, along with correct site selection and storage protocols.

8. Safely Securing a Trailer Load - Troy & Angela Means, Means Cattle Company

Learn how to properly secure a trailer load for safer transport on the road. This hands-on session will cover tie-down placement, choosing and using straps correctly, maintaining proper tension, checker load stability and common mistakes to avoid when securing equipment, hay, supplies and other farm or ranch loads.

9. Calf Nutrition, The Madigan Squeeze & Trusti Tuber - Led by SuLynn Mester & Laura Bratton, Cupcake Cattle Company

Focused on newborn calf management, this session covers nutritional support, early intervention tools, and hands-on demonstrations of the Madigan Squeeze and Trusti Tuber techniques for compromised calves.

10. Case Study Panel: Building a Better Cattle Operation with Panelists: Dr. Barry Whitworth (OSU Ext. Area Food & Animal Health Senior Specialist), Earl Ward (OSU Ext. NE Area Livestock), Scott Clawson (OSU Ext. Economist), Dr. Josh Campbell (OSU Ext. Beginning Farmer & Rancher Specialist), Dr. Cameon Ohmes (DVM, MS, DACVIM, MBA - Senior Associate Director)

Work through real-world cattle operation scenarios with multidisciplinary panel of experts. Each case will be examined from different perspectives, including animal health, nutrition and livestock management, farm resources, economics and veterinary medicine. As new information is revealed, panelists will discuss what stands out, what additional questions they would ask, and how their recommendations may change. Participants will see how the different pieces of a cattle operation connect and how decisions in one area can influence the health, performance, management and profitability of the entire operation.
