Our Story
We never imagined how one simple idea would grow into what Cowgirl Confident has become today.
We simply wanted to create a non-judgmental place where women could learn, ask questions, and build confidence. Education has always been the foundation of Cowgirl Confident, but the friendships, encouragement, and Cowmunity that have grown from it have become one of our greatest blessings.
Several years ago, Jeremy set out to find a cattle chute that would be safer for both our cattle and me—something I could confidently operate on my own when he wasn’t home. After purchasing a new chute for our farm, I quickly discovered how much easier, safer, and more enjoyable working cattle could be. It gave me the opportunity to build confidence through hands-on experience.
Then one day, while Jeremy was out of town, that confidence was put to the test.
A sick cow needed immediate attention, and for the first time, I calmly worked her through the chute by myself. With the support and guidance of my veterinarian, I was able to treat her and ultimately save her life.
That experience changed everything.
I realized it wasn’t simply the equipment that made the difference. It was the confidence I had gained through education, experience, the right tools, and a trusted relationship with my veterinarian.
Jeremy and I wanted other producers—especially women—to experience that same confidence, so we became distributors of the cattle handling equipment. Although we are no longer affiliated with that manufacturer, that chapter of our lives became the foundation for something much greater than we ever imagined.
When I first shared the idea of hosting a women’s cattle education event, Jeremy looked around our little farm and asked, “Who would want to come here?”
We’re not a fancy destination, and we’ve never tried to be. But we’ve learned that women aren’t looking for perfection. They’re looking for practical education, authentic relationships, and a place where they feel welcome.
In June 2023, we hosted our very first Cowgirl Confident event. It was a one-day event on a very hot Oklahoma day with just 28 women in attendance. We had no idea where that day would lead.
Looking back now, we smile at that conversation. What started as a simple idea on our humble farm has grown into a nationwide Cowmunity of women eager to learn, encourage one another, and build confidence together. Our farm may not be fancy, but it has become exactly what we hoped it would be—a place where women feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things, and leaving more confident than when they arrived.
Since that first event, more than 500 women from across the United States have attended Cowgirl Confident. What began as a one-day event has grown into a three-day educational experience featuring nationally recognized instructors from Oklahoma and across the country. In April 2025, we were honored to welcome Dr. Temple Grandin, and more than 200 FFA and 4-H youth joined us to hear her speak. That experience sparked another passion of ours—investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders through meaningful, hands-on education.
Today, Cowgirl Confident continues to grow through live learning events, online learning series, the Cowgirl Confident Academy, Community Circles, youth education, and our nationwide Host Farm Network, bringing practical agricultural education to communities across the United States.
Jeremy has been an essential part of every step of this journey. From our days selling cattle handling equipment to the countless hours spent preparing the farm, coordinating logistics, building facilities, welcoming attendees, and making each event possible, Cowgirl Confident has always been a team effort. While our strengths are different, our mission has always been the same—to create a place where women and youth can gain practical knowledge, build confidence, and discover they don’t have to navigate agriculture alone.
We are also incredibly grateful for the remarkable instructors who generously travel from Oklahoma and across the United States to invest in our attendees. Their willingness to share their knowledge, experience, and passion has helped shape Cowgirl Confident into far more than we ever imagined.
Above all, we recognize that every opportunity, every relationship, every instructor, every attendee, and every blessing has been provided by the Lord. Through every step of this journey, His faithfulness has been evident, and we strive to steward this calling with humility, gratitude, and purpose.
